Support

Help with setting up Sofrito and running service on it. Write to us, try the demo, or follow the guides below.

Contact

Email hello@sofritopos.app and tell us your restaurant’s name, which device you are using and what you see on screen; a photo of the screen helps. We reply within one working day. If a Sofrito partner installed Sofrito for you, they can also help on site with printers, the network and hardware.

Try the live demo

The demo opens a full restaurant with a menu, a floor plan and three weeks of service history. Unlock the till with PIN 1234 (owner), 1111 (manager), 2222 or 3333 (servers). In the app, choose Use Sofrito Cloud on the first screen, then Open the demo. Demo restaurants are deleted after 7 days.

Set up Sofrito Cloud

  1. 1
Open go.sofritopos.app in a browser, or open the Sofrito app and choose Use Sofrito Cloud.
  2. 2
Choose Set up a restaurant: the name, your country (it sets taxes, currency and receipts), how you serve, and your own account and PIN.
  3. 3
Sign in to the back office with your email and password, and add your menu, floor plan and team. A sample menu and team can be added at setup and removed later.
  4. 4
Pair the tills, phones and kitchen screens, as below.

Install Sofrito Hub in the restaurant

Sofrito Hub is the restaurant’s own server: tablets, phones, kitchen screens and printers talk to it over your network, so service carries on when the internet is down.

  1. 1
Choose the computer: the main till running the Sofrito desktop app (Windows, macOS or Linux), or a small always-on computer such as a mini PC with 8 GB of memory and an SSD. Put it, the router and the switch on a small UPS.
  2. 2
Give it a fixed address on your network, for example with a DHCP reservation in the router.
  3. 3
Install the Sofrito desktop app, open it and choose Run Sofrito Hub on this computer, then set up the restaurant. We or your partner send you the installer; IT teams can also run the hub as a standalone program or a Docker container.
  4. 4
Optional: link the hub to Sofrito Cloud in Back office, Settings, Cloud sync, to see the restaurant from anywhere and keep a copy off site.

Connect tablets, phones and kitchen screens

  1. 1
Install Sofrito from the App Store or Google Play, or open your Sofrito address in Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox.
  2. 2
On the first screen, choose Use Sofrito Cloud, or type the hub’s address (for example 192.168.1.20).
  3. 3
In the back office, open Devices & printers and choose Pair a new device. Scan the QR code with the device’s camera, or type the 6-letter code. A code works once and expires after 15 minutes.
  4. 4
Everyone unlocks the device with their own PIN. To turn a screen into a kitchen display, customer display or pickup board, open More and choose Use this screen as.

Works well: iPad (10th generation or newer), iPhone with iOS 16 or later, Android 10 or later, and Windows, macOS or Linux touch PCs.

Printers and cash drawers

  • Sofrito prints to ESC/POS receipt and kitchen printers on Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Give each printer a fixed address and add it in Back office, Devices & printers, Printers, then print a test page to check the connection and the accents.
  • Prefer Ethernet in the kitchen, and set a backup printer for each kitchen printer.
  • Connect the cash drawer to the receipt printer’s drawer port; Sofrito opens it for cash payments.
  • Star CloudPRNT printers work with Sofrito Cloud without a hub.

Common questions

A tablet or phone cannot find the hub

Check that it is on the restaurant’s staff Wi-Fi, not the guest Wi-Fi, that the hub computer is on, and that the address matches the one the hub shows. The router must allow devices to reach each other (client isolation off) and reach the hub on port 7420.

The kitchen printer stopped printing

Check its power, paper and network cable, then print a test page from Back office, Devices & printers. Tickets that fail go to the backup printer if you set one, and every screen shows the printer’s status.

Someone forgot their PIN

A manager sets a new one in Back office, Team & roles. After too many wrong PINs the keypad locks for a while.

The internet is down

With Sofrito Hub, nothing changes for the team: devices, kitchen screens and printers keep working over your network, and the hub catches up with Sofrito Cloud when the internet returns. With Sofrito Cloud alone, items not yet sent stay on each device until the connection is back.

How do I export my data or close my account?

Reports, guest lists and fiscal files can be exported from the back office at any time. To close your account and delete your data, see Delete your Sofrito Cloud account.
